Day 72 Uh oh August 22, 2001

! went looking for the ferry that goes across the lake to Niagara Falls.
! found it. A hydroplane. It only runs MWF. ! got a ticket for Friday. !
asked for an extra day here, but the hostel is booked up. They gave ME the
number for another hostel in town, but they are booked up also. !'m on their
waiting list. ! may end up pretending to be waiting for MY train all night. !
called the hostel in Niagara Falls, ON. They are booked up on Friday. The one
is Niagara Falls, NY is closed for another 20 minutes. !'ll have to call them
back to get a space. Hopefully there will be cancellations. ! got to see a
protest today. The government employees are upset because they only got a 2%
raise while Parliament gave themselves a 20% raise and left on their 2 month
vacation. The Toronto Stock Exchange is totally automated. The papers say the
PM or somebody really told W. all aboot free trade. What are they saying down
there? ! can't really tell if the Falls are in Canadia or America. ! guess
!'ll figure it oot when ! get there. They tell ME it's only aboot 8 km from
the ferry to the Falls. 0 miles again today.
