Day 69 Delayed August 19, 2001

When ! awoke this morning everything seemed perfectly normal. then !
realized the train wasn't moving. That's not right. ! went to breakfast and
it still wasn't moving. A freight train ahead of us had hit a body and the
RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) were investigating. It happened on an
Indian reservation. It seems there have been a few murders there lately and
they wanted to determine whether this was one or a suicide. After 4-5 hours
we were rolling again. Trying to make up time. We got to Winnipeg late. The
Westbound Canadien was held up because we were late. Union rules. The
Vancouver crew is not allowed past Winnipeg. They had to work the other train
back. 0 miles again.
