Day 83 Boston Bus Tour September 2, 2001

! rode the train into Boston today. ! didn't realize it went underground.
After walking around on Beacon Hill for a while ! got on one of the tour
buses. For 2 hours ! rode around. The guide sang often and played music.
Everytime there was a "yee ha" in the song he would stomp on the gas and
weave back and forth for a block. He also liked to pop the clutch @
pedestrians and make fun of everyone outside including the tour driver right
behind us. @ one stop he was trying to get a mob waiting for a different tour
to sing w/ him. ! got to see lots of old churches. ! saw the sites of the
Battle of Bunker Hill, the Boston Massacre and the balcony where the
Declaration of Independence was first read to the public. We got close to
Paul Revere's house. Now it would be worth a few $million. He should have
held onto it. We went by the Bull and Finch pub. That's the place you saw on
the opening to "Cheers". And MIT. There are pedal powered swan boats in
Boston Public Gardens. They look like they could hold 20 people. Always being
followed by ducks around the little lake. Then back to the hostel on the
subway. 0 miles
