Day 55 Earth Fair August 5, 2001

The big island event this weekend is Earth Fair. Mostly a bunch of
hippies hanging out ranting about genetically modified foods and how we need
more government to protect us. ! visited for a couple hours mostly so ! could
test ride the Jackal. The island has some big hills. It was quite a ride and
! realized ! hadn't put MY levers on symmetrically ! did get a henna tattoo.
They last a couple weeks. When ! got back to the hostel there was a flock of
Girl Scouts who were visiting using their cookie money. 8 of them and 2
leaders. From the night before there was a little family w/ a girl the same
age who had taken a fancy to ME (can you blame her?) so ! took her out and
introduced her to the Girl Scouts. They came up w/ a fun activity and really
bonded. What they decided would be fun was to chase ME and steal MY hat and
shoes and sit on ME. Then one of them got out the makeup. It took 9 Girl
Scouts to hold ME down and make ME glitter. Why didn't stuff like that happen
to ME when ! was a cub scout? 13 miles.
