Day 45 Huevos Rancheros July 26, 2001

It's been awhile since ! had huevos rancheros. There is a Mexican restaurant next to
the hostel in Bandon, OR that had them on the menu, but they didn't open 'til 11 am.
What's up w/ that. ! got some for breakfast today. The waitress spelled it wavos
rancheros. ! knew it was going to be a short day today. Just to Seaside, OR for the
hostel. ! got here early. All the rooms were booked up. They do have camping in the
back yard so that's what ! did. ! made it to the bike shoppe and got fixed up and a new
tool and, finally, ! got to go kayaking. Two miles up the Necanicum river. That's as far
as you can get @ high tide. There's another river w/ a confluence just before the ocean
near here. !'m going to have to See about doing that. MY deltoids are sore. They show
a movie every night here. We watched Get Shorty last night. It's kind of funny. !'m
going to stay another night here then, since !'ve heard horror stories about the bridge
from Astoria, OR over to WA., ! think !'ll head inland there and take a ferry and a bridge
over @ Westport, OR. then over to Mt. St. Helens. That way ! get a few more days of
riding in and it'll be warmer and ! can get to Tacoma, WA on smaller roads. It looks like
once ! get to Seattle, WA !'ll be getting a couple weeks of rest since !'ll be hanging out
there and in Vancouver, BC and Toronto and on the train. ! can take ferries from
Seattle to Victoria, BC. 33 miles.
