Day 29 Point Reyes July 10, 2001

!'m in Marin County. The birthplace of mountain bikes. No bike shoppes to
be found. ! stayed an extra day @ the hostel. ! had planned on riding out to
the light house on the point, but it's 25 miles each way and ! was feeling
too lazy for that. ! just rode to Point Reyes Station for breakfast then
headed toward the light house. ! found the Inverness library and checqued
some e mail then got groceries and a sandwich. After dropping MY groceries !
rode down the trail to the beach. ! figured it would be fun to ride around
w/out all the weight. It sure was easier. Although, !'ve forgotten how to
handle the bike w/out it. It feels like it wants to fall over. Kind of how it
used to feel before ! learned to stand w/ the load. !'ll have to re-learn the
light bike handling for 'cross season. 38 unloaded miles.
