Day 13 Grit June 24, 2001

! woke up somewhere West of Lukachukai, AZ in the Navajo Nation. ! never
saw the town. Didn't see Greasewood either! went over a pass in the Chuska
Mountains then into Ft. Defiance. Then another 3 miles to Window Rock. !
found the church. 63 miles today. !'m going to take tomorrow off and help
tear down the building next door. !'ll be sleeping indoors both nights. Food
and shelter. Maybe !'ll true up the Jackal's wheel tomorrow and adjust the
brakes. These folks flew into Albuquerque and then drove 150 miles to get
here. Gads. And now it's raining. !'m in charge of wacking flies. About a
dozen have perished @ MY mighty hand. Smells like spaghetti for dinner.
